The Chopper Carrying Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari Crashes in TaplejungFeb 27, 2019
A helicopter of Air Dynasty which was carrying Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari among 6 others, has crashed in Daredhunga of Taplejung, on Wednesday afternoon, according to Ramakrishna Subedi, spokesperson of Home Ministry.
It is reported that among the six passengers there were minister Adhikari’s private secretary Yuvaraj Dahal, Yeti Airlines’ director as well as chairperson of Air Dynasty Ang Chhiring Sherpa, and one security personnel. The deceased team had headed for Athrai Rural Municipality in Tehrathum in order to study/survey about a proposed airport at Chuhandanda.
The incident was informed by the Nepal Police after a helicopter went out of the contact while it was returning from Pathivara Temple, Taplejung.
Moreover, there were at least seven people on the board including Adhikari, Sherpa, pilot Prabhakar KC, deputy secretary of Prime Minister Office Yubaraj Dahal, Deputy Director-General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Birendra Kumar Shrestha, and a security guard of Minister Adhikari, Arjun Ghimire.
